Getting Spray Foam Out of Bedminster Roofs
Bedminster grew up around East Street and the old tobacco factories, and its housing is mostly Victorian terraces rising up the slopes of Windmill Hill. It’s a busy part of the south Bristol market, and spray foam regularly comes up in buyers’ surveys and remortgage valuations.
Found foam in a Bedminster roof? We’ll identify it first and only price removal once we’re sure it’s the right call.
The Houses of Bedminster
Bedminster terraces are typically slate-roofed with a single main span, rear additions and modest lofts. On Windmill Hill and other sloping streets, houses step up the hill, so roof heights and party-wall lines vary from house to house.
Many roofs have been re-covered at some point, but some still have their original unfelted slates. Where foam has been sprayed directly onto the back of slates, removal needs to be slow and careful to avoid loosening them.
Loft conversions with rear dormers are common in the larger terraces.
Things We Look Out For in Bedminster

When a Sale or Mortgage Is Involved
Remortgages are a common trigger in Bedminster, especially for owners who bought before lenders became cautious about spray foam. If a new lender has raised it, ask your broker what they need — sometimes a report is enough, sometimes removal is a condition.
Taking the foam out puts the roof back on view, but the lender or buyer still makes their own decision. Our mortgage page explains more.
