Getting Spray Foam Out of Filton Roofs
Filton is best known for its aerospace history, and much of its housing was built alongside it: interwar and post-war semis, short terraces and bungalows, many of them former council homes. Roof layouts are often simple, but spray foam has found its way into plenty of them.
We can confirm what’s in your Filton loft, explain whether removal is needed, and quote for it with photos for your lender or buyer.
The Houses of Filton
Typical Filton semis have hipped or gabled tiled roofs, a landing hatch and a reasonably sized loft. Many have been re-roofed at some stage, so the felt behind the foam may be newer than the house.
Former council terraces often have simple gable roofs and shallow lofts, while bungalows have low-pitched roofs with limited headroom.
Homes on newer developments are less likely to have retrofitted spray foam, but it’s still worth checking if a survey has raised it.

When a Sale or Mortgage Is Involved
Remortgages are a common reason for Filton enquiries, especially for owners of former council homes whose new lender has sent a valuer. Ask your broker for the lender’s requirement in writing before booking removal.
Taking the foam out puts the roof back on view, but the lender or buyer still makes their own decision. Our mortgage page explains more.
